Training and Education
Currently the COE-NINM offers training and education in a variety of clinical areas.
Chedoke McMaster Stroke Assessment (CMSA)
CMSA workshops are offered to institutes where the trainer will educate onsite, the centre must arrange for the group needing training. Workshops are also offered quarterly at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Centre.
Objective:
The objective of the workshop is to provide the participants with the opportunity to use the measure as a clinical or research assessment tool. This training workshop is an effective method to train users in person.
Workshop Details:
During the one-day workshop, we use video and Power Point presentations and group discussion to educate the participants about the administrative and scoring guidelines of the CMSA. Lectures include information about the development of the measure, psychometric properties, and clinical application. At the end of the workshop, the scoring competency of the participants will be tested. All participants will receive written feedback via email regarding their performance on the test. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance. These are distributed within four weeks after the workshop.
